What is Shadow Therapy?
Shadow Therapy, sometimes called ‘Shadow Self’ or ‘Shadow Work’, is a concept by psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Jung.
Jung believed that we all have a Shadow Self, a part of us that we keep locked away or hidden, consciously or unconsciously, and for a variety of reasons too.
Shadow Therapy is when a client is encouraged to look at this, understand why it is there, get clarity of where it comes from, and potentially transform it into something else.
It is a fascinating form of therapy.
