In this weeks episode of #rightyourownstory I talk about the x6 times World Snooker Champion Ray Reardon (MBE), and his mindset when approaching both his game, and his life.
A lot can be learned from his approach in our own lives too.
Ray Reardon was the first No1 ranked player when rankings first came in (1976/77), the oldest world champion at 45 (1978), and the oldest player to win a ranking event when he was 50 (1982).
One of his quotes I find hugely inspiring – “It took me many years to learn there is only one ball on the table, and that is the white ball. If you cannot contain the white ball, you’ll enjoy the game socially but you’ll never master it, because you’ve got to get hold of that white ball and control it. It’s your table”.
Wise words indeed.
I hope you enjoy this episode.
Best wishes,
James
